Medical care of patients begins at the unit level. The PA is the first individual in the Health Service chain who makes medically substantiated decisions based on medical specific training. Since Army divisions do most of the actual fighting, it is important that unit and division level medical evacuation support overlap from the far-forward Battalion Aid Station (BAS) to the Division rear boundary. Battalion Aid Stations and Division Treatment Stations must operate in close proximity to military action; therefore, the medical personnel who work in these areas will often find themselves treating and caring for patients. A key element in the medical system is the need for responsive and rapid patient treatment. The Aid Station, Inc., is based on this tried and trued concept. Adapted from:
The Aid Station, Inc., uses the Army application of initial health care. Our Brigade Surgeon is a qualified MD or DO who collaborates with our Battalion Aid Station PAs and NPs who provide first line health care. They are always available for consultation and review of higher-level medical needs.
The PA and/or NP will be the first-line healthcare provider to address and care for our patients. They are experienced in primary and urgent care. Many of them are veterans who cared for active duty troops. They can treat a variety of ailments and can refer to higher-level care as needed.
We only hire the best support staff to care for our patients.
